Crazy Joe's Mad World!

This Page is a window into the madness that is Crazy Joe! While browsing through this looking glass you will find all sorts of odds and ends, mostly humorous, bitter or sarcastic. With the overall randomness of the updates, photos, videos, comments you will get a good idea of the "ADD" that is what goes through my mind.

The greatest city in the world, an economical center, a shining symbol of capitalism and America, and in this fabulous city people are left in the dark living like the last 100 years of technological progress never occurred. That’s just pathetic. Luckily No one I care about was seriously effected by this outage.

Anyway as a result of this electrical shortage stuff all over the city was running a little differently.

Last week I get on the subway, on my way to work and all the overhead lights are out. I assume the MTA was trying to conserve power. The only thing that seemed to be lit up inside the car was the bright yellow digital sign proudly displaying the flashing F line information. I grab a seat and curiously wait to see what a train ride in the dark will be like. Over the course of my lifetime and all of my commuting I have seen the lights go out for a few seconds here and there, but never longer. I have to say it was pretty damn cool.

The subway pulls out of the station and into the darkness of the tunnels. Everything and everyone are engulfed by shadows and turned into silhouettes, dimly illuminated by the eerie yellow glow of the only light source. These shadows are momentarily banished by the bright flash of the trains electricity sparking off the tracks, similar to lightening. These flashes screw up your pupils and make everything seem darker and creepier. It was like a scene out of a horror movie. I stared at my fellow strap hangers in complete fascination. It was like seeing ghosts, or souls of the damned on a evil train of doom. It reminded me of a carnival haunted house fright ride. As a fan of the horror genre I have to say it totally rocked! I really think you had to be there but I hope my description did the experience at least a little justice.
